It wouldnt recognize manufacturer, drivers, or anything, I had to revert back to 8.1 Does anyone know a fix for this Does the adapter work. Could be possible my desktop is too old and unable to synchronize the data speed rate to any wireless signal until magic happens. So I use a Wifi adapter as Im not able to hardwire called 'Linksys AE2500.' I tried installing Windows 10 and it did not recognize the adapter at all. I'm not sure what causes the AE2500 and Windows XP not to play nice with each other. Not a big dea l but would of been nice that the AE2500 would connect instead of being random as in One connect in 100 attempts or waiting 30 minutes to many hours before it decides "Oh! I miraculously decided to connect when you were not looking ".

In a couple years I will update to AC, as N will become obsolete. Download the latest driver for Linksys AE2500, fix the missing driver with Linksys. Also at times might of been a result of a Thunder Storm/ weather interference. Cause of dropped internet connection is unknown but possibly a Server issue with the Internet Service Provider own servers. It has always been reliable and only had a few disconnects " loss of signal" occurrence each year. a Windows 10 left me without network access - since I discovered later there was no Windows 10 driver for my Linksys. I re-ran the Windows 7 Linksys driver installation program and it's working again for me. After the Anniversary Update installed Device Manager said that there were no drivers available for the AE2500. I removed the AE2500 and upgraded to Windows 10 1607. I've had this Linksys "Cisco" AE2500 for better than 6 years. AE2500 was previously working perfectly fine on Windows 10 with Windows 7 driver. Right click the driver installation file and select Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
